Description

ScienceWiz(R) Inventions Online Discovery: This multi-award winning book and kit uses everyday materials to build a spinning motor, a clicking telegraph, a light-flashing generator and a real radio. The use of simple materials (no plastic required) helps to demystify the "why" as well as the "how." The step by step, fully-illustrated, 40 page book makes the projects very doable and the explanations easy to understand. The Online Discovery version of ScienceWiz(R) Inventions includes an online flip-book with embedded animations, videos, games, and interactive simulations.

Imagine building a working radio using only aluminum foil, wire and a diode. That's it. No battery required. Imagine making a spinning motor using only paper clips, a magnet, a bit of wire and a battery. Light a bulb by spinning a coil of wire next to a bar magnet. Make a telegraph click and send coded messages to a friend using just two paper clips, a nail, wire and a battery. Every day materials, indeed

These are all inventions with coils. With them you can explore the discoveries of Michael Faraday and Nikola Tesla, two scientists and inventors who played a seminal role in the creation of the electrical grid.

This kit includes materials, instructions, an online flip-book and a handle box for easy storage and transport.
