The Book Catapult is proud to be the mobile booksellers for the next edition of the literary reading series Last Exit. Join us at You Belong Here (3619 El Cajon Blvd) on Saturday, July 27 at 8:00pm. Reading from their work on that star-studded evening will be Kristen Arnett (Mostly Dead Things), Sarah Rose Etter (The Book of X), Lilliam Rivera (Dealing In Dreams and The Education of Margot Sanchez), Tommy Pico (Junk, Nature Poem, and the forthcoming Feed), and Mike Sakasegawa (host of the “Keep the Channel Open” podcast.)

Last Exit is a new project in San Diego dedicated to showcasing local and visiting writers, providing low-cost workshops and readings to San Diego, and building community through editorial apprenticeships. “San Diego is often overlooked by touring authors promoting their books, “ says founder Julia Dixon Evans, “and I wanted to create a space where local writers could read with these touring authors and bring great literature into the hearts of San Diegans.”

Editor & founder Julia Dixon Evans is the author of the novel How to Set Yourself on Fire (Dzanc Books, 2018). She is Senior Columns Editor for The Coil andNonfiction Editor for Noble / Gas Qrtrly, and writes the weekly Culture Report for Voice of San Diego. More at juliadixonevans.com. Co-editor & Senior Fiction Editor Ryan Bradford is the founding editor of Black Candies, a journal of literary horror and dark fiction. His work can be found in Paper Darts, Hobart, [PANK], Quarterly West and elsewhere, and he is a columnist for San Diego CityBeat
