The Telepathic Traveler: A to Z Guide across the Globe is a fun, non-fiction multi-discipline book written and illustrated for the middle reader. Children are invited to visit countries around the world through the voice of animals native to a specific country. Connections are made to the National Standards in Science, Social Studies and Reading.
Susan Irland uses her original artwork and a fun storyline to encourage children to use critical skills while taking a whirlwind tour of the world.
Susan spent her childhood in upstate New York and currently resides in New Jersey. She has won awards for her paintings and has taught fine art and illustration both in the public school system and as an adjunct on a college level. One assignment that students were quite frequently given was to illustrate the written word. As a result, the inspiration came to write and illustrate Telepathic Traveler. Susan has a bachelor of science in studio and art history and a master’s degree in supervision and administration with a visual arts focus. In addition, she has successfully completed numerous fine art graduate level courses at several colleges. She devotes her time to painting, working with students, exploring all the arts, travel (loves the Jersey Shore, Vermont and Maine and the cultural experiences in New York City) and spending time with family and friends.
